Why Solid Timber

Born in Truckee, Built in Reno

Naturally, we have the utmost respect and commitment to using the highest-quality, most sustainable materials we can source. CLT, sourced from the western states, is the perfect modern material for traditional sauna construction because of its sheer mass. Essentially, CLT consists of milled lumber that is layered and bonded at 90º angles. This creates a highly efficient insulating material that resists warping and deformation from extreme changes in temperature and humidity. In addition to constrains of traditional saunas, this material has strength to support heavy snow loads, naturally fire resistant, and an ideal escape for our extreme climates.
