Materials Matter

Our saunas are constructed using Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) sourced from the Western U.S.

CLT consists of milled lumber that is layered and bonded at 90º angles, creating a highly efficient insulating material that resists deformation from extreme changes in temperature and humidity.

As a building material, CLT provides exceptional structural integrity, allowing us to craft saunas specifically designed to withstand the unique environmental elements and weather conditions of mountain living.

CLT is also a sustainable and renewable building material that is changing the profile of modern building and construction.

Jeff Lennan
Cofounder/Managing Partner

Jeff grew up helping his dad build commercial fishing boats and never lost his passion for seeing big ideas come to life. After 25 years as the founder of an ad agency, he was more than ready to get his hands dirty again building saunas. Jeff loves working alongside talented teams to deliver an exceptional product. If he’s not at the shop, he’s either spending time outdoors with his wife and dogs, riding Sawtooth, or in the sauna. He’s also up for a plunge in the Truckee river in every season.

Max Collinson
Cofounder/Lead Builder

Max is a licensed contractor specializing in precision timber work and fine finish carpentry. He brings a meticulous, detail-driven approach to building every Värma sauna, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship from start to finish. Also a dedicated family man, Max is proud to be raising his two children alongside his wife in his hometown of Truckee.

Brandon Brooks
Cofounder/Lead Engineer

Brandon is a licensed professional engineer specializing in structural engineering, and the owner/principal engineer of Shear Force Engineering. He brings a practical, design-driven approach to creating durable, high-quality sauna structures. With a strict focus on buildability, performance, and longevity, Brandon ensures each Värma sauna is thoughtfully engineered and built to last. He and his wife feel fortunate to be raising their son in the beautiful, close-knit mountain community of Truckee.
