I'm a structural engineer by trade. My whole career has been about understanding how things are built to last — what materials hold up, what details matter, and where most people cut corners they shouldn't.

When I moved to Truckee to raise my family, I started thinking differently about what "built to last" means in a mountain environment. The temperature swings, the snowpack, the humidity — most structures aren't designed for it. Most saunas definitely aren't.

That's what Värma is solving. Every sauna we build is engineered the way I'd engineer anything I'd put my name on — with CLT that handles the conditions, joinery that won't fail in year three, and a site integration process that actually accounts for where you live. I don't build things to look good on a website. I build them to be standing and performing 30 years from now.
